Visa Updates: 5 Benefits for Indian Travelers in 2024
Summer is almost here, and Indian travelers are preparing their plans for international adventures. Anticipating trips to new places and cultures makes it important to keep up with the most recent visa laws. Thus, every Indian visitor should be aware of the following significant visa updates for 2024.
Japan Offers Indian Travelers eVisas
Indian travelers can now apply for eVisas in Japan. This quick procedure, which falls under VFS Global’s Japan Visa Application Centers, keeps the same steps for submitting applications and supporting documentation to VFS. The eVisa, which is for short-term travel, will have a single-entry option that permits stays of up to 90 days.
Furthermore, visas will no longer be physically attached to passports but arrive electronically. Once approved, travelers will need to use an internet connection to show a notice of visa approval on their smartphone at the airport. And please be aware that printed copies of the eVisa or other alternate formats like PDFs will not be accepted.
Dubai’s Offers Five-Year, Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa
In response to the rise in Indian tourists, Dubai is launching a new five-year multiple-entry visa program. And each visit may last up to 90 days, with an annual extension allowed. The visa is valid for five years and accommodates both business and leisure travel with unlimited entries.
Thailand Provides Visa-Free Entry for Indian Passport Holders
From November 10, 2023, to May 10, 2024, Indian passport holders won’t require a visa in Thailand, as per a recent government announcement. Indian tourists are permitted to enter Thailand during this time for a 30-day stay without needing a tourist visa.
Kenya Eliminates Visa Requirements
To support the country’s vital tourism industry, Kenya removed the need for visas for all foreign visitors, including Indian citizens, as of January 1. Additionally, this initiative to waive visa requirements will make travel easier for tourists who are eager to go on beach vacations and wildlife safaris.
Romania and Bulgari’s access to Schengen Visas
With the partial enlargement of Romania and Bulgaria into the Schengen Area, the Schengen visa now covers 29 countries in continental Europe. Moreover, Indian tourists can now get Schengen visas from Bulgaria and Romania, allowing stays of up to 90 days and 180 days.
However, it’s important to note that visas obtained from these countries before April 1 do not permit entry to the entire Schengen area. Moreover, non-Schengen nationals may still need passport checks when they travel between different Schengen destinations. To complete the visa approval process, visit the official websites of Romania and Bulgaria.
